Older Brits battling with debt management
More than half of 35-to 45-year-olds are struggling with debt management, it's been claimed.
In a survey commissioned by F&C Investments it's been revealed that 14 per cent feel they have no control over their finances at all; over a third think they have some control and less than half claim to be on top of things.
Nearly a third of those in debt say they're worried about their borrowing and are finding it hard to keep up repayments.
Scott Stevens of F&C Investments says there's "a real need for people in this age group to sort their financial lives out."
And relying on a state pension isn't the solution according to Stevens. He says it's "unthinkable" that almost a quarter of people are still planning to rely on the State pension."
One way for middle-aged Brits to take control now is with a debt management plan. This can mean borrowers get their finances back on track without needing to borrow more.
